Cricket match played between DPS, Sharjah and BIS,Kishangarh

BIS, Dec 23, 2011:- A friendly cricket match was played between Delhi Public School, Sharjah and Birla International School on Wednesday, 23 Dec, 2011. The match started at 11:00 am in the morning. It was a 20-20 over match. After the formal introduction with the players of both the teams, toss was played and it was in favour of DPS team. They elected to bat first and scored 162 runs in 20 over at the loss of 9 wickets. On the other hand BIS team scored 87 runs at the loss of 9 wickets in 16 over. All good shots and innings were supported and enjoyed by the spectators. In the prize distribution ceremony Principal told it as a medium to build good relationship between two good institutions and gave a vote of thanks to the coach of DPS team.



Christmas celebration at BIS

BIS, Dec 22,2011:- Christmas or Christmas Day is an annual commemoration of the birth of JesusChrist,[5][6] celebrated generally on December 25 as a religious and cultural holiday by billions of people around the world. BIS also celebrated this festival in advance with great excitement and joy. The place was common room of the boys’ hostel. It was very beautifully decorated with the symbols representing how this story began. Students presented Christmas carols and songs with great enthusiasm. Other students and staff members also enjoyed this little effort made by the students and teachers. The main centre of attraction was the Santa Claus. The faces of children blossomed like flowers after looking at him. He distributed sweets and candies to the students. At the end Principal, Mr. P.K Ranwaka blessed the students with his precious words and appreciated them for their efforts.

Memory Enhancement Seminar held at BIS

Sunday,20 Nov,2011:- To introduce children of the school with memory enhancement techniques,a seminar was held at BIS. A team of experts shared their knowledge with the students. Mr. Vinod Sharma demonstrated few techniques to increase the time limit for remembering something. It was totally an entertaining and knowledgeable session. All students and staff members enjoyed it and got benefited with it. At the end honourable
head mistress Mrs. Nutan Singh thanked all team members for the wonderful conduction of program.

Computer Quiz Competition





Report on Computer Quiz competition




Saturday 12th February,2011:- “Technology... is a queer thing. It brings you great gifts with one hand, and it stabs you in the back with the other.” Being aware of this the students of Birla International School showed their skills both theoretically and practically in a wonderful quiz competition held in the school. Children from different grades were distributed into groups according to the strength of their class. The competition was held in two sessions. At first the questioning session was held, in which children were asked many questions related to their syllabus and apart from it. The questioning session was put for three levels, where the knowledge of students was judged on the basis of different skills based questions. The quiz was conducted in two different classrooms where grade 3 and 4 was questioned by Mr. Manish Saraswat and observed by Mrs. Nutan Singh (Headmistress BIS), Mrs. Anjana Mishra (Art & Craft teacher) and Ms. Deepa Manocha. Whereas on the other end quiz for grade 5 and 6 was questioned by Mr. Reubean John(Music teacher), Ms. Preeti Rai(Science teacher) and observed by Col. D.Choudhary(Principal BIS) alongwith Ms. Neelam Sharma(English teacher). All children enthusiastically participated in the quiz. In the second session their practical knowledge on Smart board was tested by the concerned teachers and observers. Overall it was very interesting and fruitful competition, in which the participation of students was 100%. Finally the result of this competition was declared by Col. D Choudhary.

Formal Inauguration of Birla International School











Sunday 16th January,2011:- “Where the mind is without fear and the head is held high where knowledge is free from the narrow domestic walls……”. These beautiful lines written by Rabindra Nath Tagore are seem to be true on the auspicious occasion of ‘Formal Inauguration’ function of Birla International School. Birla International School, which was a dream of Mr. G.D Birla to provide world class education to children, so that they can do their best in all aspects of their life. On the breezy day, the school building was inaugurated by Mr. B.K. Birla Ji, the great visionary in the field of education accompanied by Smt. Sarla Birla Ji and other distinguished member of Birla family. After the inauguration ceremony the recitation of ‘Mantras’ and pooja were conducted in presence of priests. After that Shri. B.K Birla Ji, Shri S.K.Birla Ji, Smt. Sarla Birla Ji and Smt. Sumangala Birla Ji graced their feet towards the school building to visit the beautiful Infrastructure, latest teaching methods and best use of IT in education. After that Dormitory was visited by the dignitaries. The function was started with the nicely woven words of Mr. V.N Ratnakar who not only described the achievement of the school but also the cooperation and support given by Mr. S.K Birla Ji. Starting with his precious words Mr. S.K. Birla Ji gave his speech in very few but meaningful words. Nicely added to it was the speech of Smt. Sarla Birla Ji, who inspired all of us to do better. Children presented their skills at best level through ‘Saraswati Vandana’, ‘Choir’ and a nice dance. The entire programme was a successful one ending with a delicious lunch.
